We had the honour of being the team to photograph the first wedding ceremony hosted at Whup Whup Restaurant & Cafe. Being the owners of the chic and hip eatery, it was only fitting for Liang & Pojoo to be the first ones to exchange their vows in holy matrimony at their own establishment before their closest family and friends. The rustic modern theme of their wedding day went perfectly in tune with the cafe’s ambiance. I loved how personal the wedding felt. Most of the deco were handmade, and of special note, Liang’s boutonniere featured a small wooden ladle because he’s a chef, and Pojoo’s bouquet housed several brushes because she’s a painter. Plus, the wedding rings were cradled lovingly in a small frying pan!
Hitz FM deejay Adam Izzy was on board as the emcee to get the ceremony started, and being the soulful singer that Liang is, he serenaded Pojoo as she walked down the aisle with her father. The music team from Kingdomcity got the ceremony started and everyone started to worship. The couple’s personal friend, Juwita Suwito, then gave an amazing vocal performance with a song specially dedicated to them. I have photographed many weddings, but a first experience for me was the water ceremony when Liang and Pojoo each held a container of coloured water and mixed the liquids in unison.
When the pastor announced the newly wedded couple, Liang gave Pojoo a HUGE kiss and they proceeded to dance in the recessional to the beat of Beyonce’s Single Ladies (Ring On It)! What an amazing day. I witnessed my friends Liang and Pojoo getting married and got to photograph it too. Cheers to the exuberant wedded couple, more good days to come!
